425-431 Main/1875 The commercial tenants of the Ferndale Lodge, No 220, International Order of Oddfellows lost their large plate glass windows and their stock was thrown down and scrambled. People are reading reports stuck to the inside of the downed glass, perhaps reports of damages from the other end of this huge quake - in San Francisco.To the left is the only good view of 421 Main/1893 which has lost its orioles and trim. Today, it houses The Golden Gait Mercantile.
